此砚台选用大块和阗青白玉雕琢而成，玉质滋润致密。器呈长方形，顶端两角斜切，砚额雕有梅花形墨池，砚堂圆形下凹。砚台是古代文人书案上必不可少的文房器具，多以较为细腻的石材制成，而玉砚则十分少见。此件玉砚造型纹饰简约质朴，打磨细腻，带有原配红木盒，非常适合收藏陈设。来源：2015年5月英国Kidson Trigg拍卖行。
