HENNAGE ACQUISITION FUND A DEHUA BLANC-DE-CHINE FIGURE OF GUANYINQing dynasty, mid-late 18th century The elegant figure seated lalitasana and unusually posed with sweeping right arm reaching across the body to rest on the raised left knee, her right leg folded under and across her body, the serene deity with downcast eyes and wearing flowing robes bared at the chest to display her simple jewelry, two knots of long hair fall attractively from her shoulders, a Dehua gourd mark and four-character fisherman seal impressed on the back. 9 1/2in (24cm) high 清 十八世紀中晚期 德化觀音像 《德化》葫蘆形篆書刻款及《博及漁人》雙行方框篆書刻款 For a seated Guanyin of smaller scale seated in an identical pose but in mirror image, and raised on rockwork, see Robert H.
