HENNAGE ACQUISITION FUND A SUPERB PAIR OF EXPORT 'NODDING HEAD' FIGURES OF ELEGANT LADY TAPERSTICK HOLDERSLate Kangxi-early Yongzheng period The rare slim figures standing on integral square bases typical of late Kangxi production, with delicately molded panels of green, iron-red and gilt scrolling chrysanthemum at the waist above a paler iron-red and gilt foliate apron, the extremely elegant and delicately modeled figures standing in mirror image clutching a large tapered vase to one side supported by one hand underneath and another reaching across their bodies, wearing multi-layered robes of iron-red, black and gilt with green-enamel highlights to the cuffs, collars and waist ties, and with yellow skirts with floral roundels falling in layered folds to the ground, one delicate foot on each poking from beneath the edged hem, the loose heads modeled separately with delicate features. 11 3/8in (28.9cm); 11 5/8in (29.5cm) high 清康熙晚期/雍正 外銷彩瓷捧尊仕女燭臺一對 See Sotheby's, New York, 20 November 2020, True Connoisseur: The Collection of Ezra & Cecile Zilkha , lot 148, for a pair of later famille rose lady candle-holders, circa 1735.
