Four Copper-lined Hibachi PotsJapan, Meiji period, including three round wood ones decorated with gilt flowers with mother-of-pearl-inlaid details; and one square hand warmer with an embroidered fabric cushion cover, ht. to 12, dia. to 12 1/2 in. Provenance: From the David Drabkin Collection, many of which were loaned to the Yale University Art Gallery for exhibition/research. Mr. Drabkin formed his art collection while residing in many parts of Asia, including Japan, China, and Thailand. His keen interest in Asian art led him to build a close relation with many fellow art collectors, gallery owners, art historians, and art dealers, such as J.J. Lally.
