Pair of Bronze UrnsJapan, Meiji period, in the shape of a sakedaru covered with a cloth wrapped around the mouth rim tied with a woven string to form a ribbon, two-character mark reading "Houen" or "Yoshien" on base, ht. 8 in. Provenance: From the David Drabkin Collection, many of which were loaned to the Yale University Art Gallery for exhibition/research. Mr. Drabkin formed his art collection while residing in many parts of Asia, including Japan, China, and Thailand.
