A SPINACH-GREEN JADEITE 'LINGZHI AND THREE FRIENDS OF WINTER' RUYI SCEPTER, 19TH CENTURY China. Finely carved in the form of a lingzhi fungus, a blossoming plum branch in openwork at the head, the handle in relief and openwork with smaller lingzhi shoots, pine branches, and leafy bamboo stalks, the scepter thus presenting the Three Friends of Winter (pine, bamboo, and plum). The translucent stone is of a deep spinach-green tone with some paler green shadings and cloudy white inclusions.

Provenance: From a noted Hungarian private collection.
Condition: Excellent condition with old wear and some minor nicks here and there as well as natural inclusions and fissures inherent to the stone.
