A SANCAI GLAZED POTTERY JAR, TANG DYNASTY China, 618-907. The ovoid body liberally splashed with bright amber, straw and green glazes that cover the short neck and continue over the shoulders, irregularly stopping above the flat base exposing the pale buff body.

Provenance: Tenmoku Art, New York, USA, according to label on base. A private collection in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, by repute acquired from the above.
Condition: Overall as expected and commensurate with age, with encrustations, extensive wear, firing flaws and chips to the foot, the base with a drilled hole.
