A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON 'LOTUS' CHARGER, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The deep rounded sides supported on a tapered foot and rising to a wide everted rim, finely carved to the interior with a central medallion enclosing a stylized lotus blossom, encircled by scrolling foliage on the cavetto, covered overall in a rich bubble-suffused glaze of a sea-green color, save for the unglazed foot burnt to orange in the firing.

Provenance: From a private estate in Oxford, United Kingdom.
Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age. The glaze with general signs of wear, usage and aging. Minor firing flaws, light surface scratches, the rim with a single hairline (approx. 9 cm).
