A FAMILLE VERTE 'CHESS PLAYERS' BALUSTER VASE, QING DYNASTY China, 19^th century. The ovoid vase tapering towards the base, surmounted with a trumped neck, finely painted in emerald-green, lemon-yellow, aubergine, sapphire-blue, and iron-red, depicting a palace garden with nobilities and scholars at a game of chess, to their left a group of men seated in a pavilion around a table. The neck decorated with boys at play in a garden. The base with a double circle in underglaze blue.

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor old wear, and firing flaws including dark spots, pottery lines, glaze recesses, and kiln grit.

清代五彩《園中人物》賞瓶
中國，十九世紀。賞瓶造型規整雅緻，撇口，束頸，鼓腹，圈足。器身以五彩繪園中官員下棋、談天等場景圖紋，埸景熱鬧，歡笑之感躍然而出。頸部飾童戯圖。整器畫筆細膩清秀，圖案構圖疏密得體，繪畫精細。圈足内青花雙圈款。
