A BRONZE 'BUDDHIST LION' WEIGHT, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The recumbent beast is finely modeled with a large snout, round eyes, thick curly mane, and bushy tail flicked to one side of its left hind leg.

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Very good condition with some old wear and minor casting flaws, few minuscule nicks, and light scratches. Good patina overall, naturally grown.
