A PALE CELADON JADE 'PEONY AND CHRYSANTHEMUM' SNUFF BOTTLE, POSSIBLY IMPERIAL, 1750-1850 Opinion: The bottle's superb hollowing, executed in the shape of a fan with remarkably thin walls, allows for the bottle's actual fill level to be clearly monitored through the transparent stone, an ingenious and quite unique feature which, at the very least, points toward an 18^th century date.

China. Superbly hollowed, of flattened baluster form, the tapering sides resting on a small recessed oval base, rising to a high shoulder and a short waisted neck with flat lip, both sides neatly incised with peony and chrysanthemum. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with cloudy white inclusions.

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor old wear, few light surface scratches. Natural inclusions to the stone.

中國。掏膛良好，扁平壺，平口，束頸，豐肩，瓶成心形，平底；壺兩側分別刻有牡丹花和菊花，清麗雅致。淺青色半透明玉料，帶有白色絮狀物。
