A GILT AND ENAMELED GLASS 'CHILONG' SNUFF BOTTLE, REPUBLIC PERIOD China, 1912-1949. Of octagonal form, rising from an oval foot to a short, cylindrical neck, painted in polychrome enamels and gold, the wider side depicting a medallion of two stylized, sinuous chilong within a foliate band, the narrow sides with three reserves framing flowerheads, the neck decorated with further flowerheads above a speckled ground.

Provenance: A notable private collector in Kensington, London, United Kingdom.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, minuscule nibbling to mouth, few light surface scratches.

The recessed base with an apocryphal blue-enameled four-character mark Qianlong nianzhi.

中國，1912-1949年。圓柱形頸部，壺身成八角，橢圓形圈足，琺琅彩開光，中央兩條藍色螭龍，外圈卷葉紋，頸部花卉紋。
