AN OCTAGONAL BRASS BRAZIER, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
India. Of classic form, each side finely incised with ibex, camels, and birds amid foliate scroll works, each panel separate and joined by eight elements with splayed foot and pawn-shaped finials, with two handles.
Provenance: From a noted British private collection, by repute acquired at Nagel, Stuttgart.
Condition: Good condition with old wear, extensive traces of use, some casting irregularities and associated flaws, rust and encrustations to the interior, the base with small dents, the handles attached with modern screws. Minor nicks and losses here and there.
