A FINELY CARVED ROCK CRYSTAL AND ONYX BACK SCRATCHER
India, late 19th - early 20th century. The rock crystal hand is neatly incised with rings and a stylized lotus blossom, the onyx handle is carved in the shape of a twisted rope terminating in a rock crystal bud, all with finely lacquer-gilt details.
Provenance: German trade.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear overall, and extensive wear to the lacquer-gilt. The rock crystal with few natural imperfections. The hand is carved separately from the handle and may be removed.
