Louis XVI clock, France, late 19th century. Gilt and polychrome bronze. It has later hands. Key preserved. It needs to be adjusted. Measurements: 24 x 14 x 8 cm. Bronze clock with a rectangular base with ornamental elements in the form of rosettes in the corners and a classically inspired fretwork in all the lateral profiles. On the base, which ascends in a truncated cone shape, there is figurative ornamentation depicting a globe, several wheels and measuring instruments, thus creating an allegory of time. Next to these elements is a column with a classical shaft, decorated with a gilded garland, and above it, as a capital, the spherical clock case, finished in white, with Roman numerals and gilded openwork hands. On the outside, the dial follows the same aesthetic inspired by classical art, flanked by garlands on the sides and a large cup crowning the upper area.
