拍品敞口，浅弧腹，圈足，胎质细腻。釉下青花与釉上五彩相斗成饰，盘心绘正面龙，蜿曲矫健，五爪怒张，锐不可挡。外壁绘海水波浪纹，内壁绘波涛及四条鲤鱼，鲤鱼呈腾跃状，与正面龙相映成趣。据《太平广记》载：“龙门之下，每岁季春有黄鲤鱼，自海引诸川争来赴之。一岁中，登龙门者不过七十二，初登龙门，即有云雨随之，天火自后烧其尾，乃化为龙矣。”所绘的“鱼化龙”图，寓意古代文人科举成功后人生转向飞黄腾达。
