拍品形制规整秀丽。内壁施白釉，釉面肥腴滋润，外壁罩施胭脂红釉，色泽浓艳均匀，红白相映，瑰丽非凡。成对保存，颇为难得。
胭脂红又称金红，是以一种金为着色剂的名贵低温色釉。因色如胭脂，故称“胭脂红”。陈浏《陶雅》评论有“胭脂红也者，华贵中之佚丽者也。……匀凈明艳，殆亡伦比。紫晶逊其鲜研，玫瑰无其娇丽”，胭脂红釉之名贵可见一斑。
