A Khorasan high tin bronze dish with running animals and inscriptions, Central Asia, 12th century, of shallow form with curved walls, the centre well with interlacing strapwork over a foliate design, surrounded by a band of running quadrupeds, with an outer kufic inscription band, the exterior plain, 26.6cm. diam. Provenance: Oliver Hoare Ltd, 2000Vessels made from a high-tin alloy were produced in Iran from the early Islamic period to the 12th century.
