A turquoise and cobalt glazed cuerda seca pottery tile fragment, Western Iran, 13th century, excavated at Takht-i-Suleyman, with late 19th century label to reverse "Dug by Theodore Bent from under putrified water at Takht-i Suleyman, Kourdistan, 1889", in wood frame, tile 35 x 18cm.James Theodore Bent (1852 – 1897) was an English explorer, archaeologist, and author.
