A North African portable prayerbook, probably Morocco, circa 1800, 300ff. approx. Arabic manuscript on paper, with 7ll. of neat maghrebi script in black, gold and polychrome, within red and blue outer rule, some marginal notes, 6pp. to beginning and 12pp. at end in a different hand, opening folio with illuminated title page, headers in polychrome decorated cartouches, some with red guard sheets, red morocco gilt binding panelled in gilt flower tools, central lozenge black, preserved in a contemporary blue velvet travelling case with red and gilt cord binding, embroidered with flowers in relief, folio 11 x 11.5cm.
