A GROUP OF FOUR CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK ROBES 19th / 20th Century Comprising: an ivory-ground robe embroidered with vignettes of children riding tigers amidst blossoms and fruit, the sleeves couched in colour and gilt-wrapped thread, the second robe decorated with medallions of butterflies hovering amidst large peonies, the sleeve-ends with similar decoration, the third black robe with vignettes of ladies in gardens dotted with lingzhi and peonies, the sleeves decorated with bats flying amidst fruiting peach branches, the fourth robe embroidered with confronting butterflies encircled by melons and flowerheads on a black ground, with an ivory-ground collar and elaborately embroidered sleeve-ends, 104cm long, 118.5cm across; 118cm long, 133cm across; 99cm long, 110cm across; 104cm long, 127cm across (4) Provenance : private collection formed in the 1990s. 十九/二十世紀 刺繡絹袍一組四件 來源: 私人收藏。
