A Meissen porcelain sugar box with a merchant navy scene Round lid with a gilded branch finial, finely painted floral appliques and two small landscapes. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher`s mark presumably that of Johann Friedrich Schuberth jr. or Johann Caspar Meißner, 52. in gold (box and lid). Minor chips to the floral appliques, a small filled chip to the edge of the lid, minimal wear to the gilding. H 11.5, D 11.1 cm. C. 1740, decor of the box attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold. Zuckerdose mit umlaufender Kauffahrteiszene Porzellan, farbiger Aufglasurdekor, Vergoldung. Rund. Passender Deckel mit plastischem vergoldetem Astgriff und farbig anstaffiertem Blütenbelag. Auf dem Deckel zwei gegenüberliegende kleine Landschaften. Blaumarke Schwerter, Dreherzeichen wohl für Johann Friedrich Schuberth jr. oder Johann Caspar Meißner, goldene 52. (Dose und Deckel). Minimale Chips an den Blüten, kleiner verfüllter Chip am Deckelrand, Vergoldung etwas berieben. H 11,5, D 11,1 cm. Meissen, um 1740, der Dekor der Dose Christian Friedrich Herold, zugeschrieben.
