A Meissen porcelain sauce boat with squirrel motifs Designed to resemble a ship resting on four scroll supports. Decorated with flying squirrel motifs and bundles of rice straw. Blue crossed swords mark, former`s mark of Johann George Schlicke. Firing cracks, cracks to the base and to one handle, restorations to one of the mascarons. H 10.4, W 25.2 cm. Ca. 1735 - 39, model by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Provenance Private collection, Palatinate. Saucière mit Eichhörnchendekor Porzellan, Aufglasurdekor in Kakiemon-Polychromie, brauner Randstreifen, Vergoldung. Modell Sulkowski-Ozier. Schiffsrumpfform auf vier Volutenfüßen, zwei C-Henkel. Im Fond und auf beiden äußeren Wandungen ein springendes (fliegendes) Eichhörnchen, zusätzlich auf den Seiten Reisstrohgarben, darauf ein weiteres Eichhörnchen. Blaumarke Schwerter, Formerzeichen für Johann George Schlicke. Brandrisse, Riss im Boden und durch einen Henkel, Restaurierung an einem Maskaron. H 10,4, B 25,2 cm. Meissen, um 1735 - 39, das Modell von Johann Joachim Kaendler. Provenienz Pfälzische Privatsammlung.
