A Meissen porcelain dish with a parrot and a Bolognese dog Octagonal dish decorated with brown acanthus foliage picked out in gold and four shell motifs around the rim. The centre of the plate painted with a scene of a parrot on a perch and a Bolognese dog. With insects, some painted over minor firing flaws. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher`s number 27. H 8.6, W 33.7, D 30.5 cm. C. 1740. The porcelain collection in Dresden contains parts of a coffee and tea service with the same decor. Until the publication of the catalogue of the Ole Olsen Collection in 1927, however, a dinner service with this decoration was unknown. The Danish collection contained over 50 items, including this bowl. Provenance Private collection, Palatinate. Auf oktogonalem Grundriss mit geschweift hochgezogener Wandung und geschnittenem Rand. Um die Fahne braune, goldkonturierte Akanthusranken und vier Muschelornamente. Spiegelfüllende Darstellung eines Papageis auf einer Stange, darunter der bellende Bologneserhund. Zahlreiche Insekten, teilweise über kleinen Massefehlern. Blaumarke Schwerter, Drehernummer 27. H 8,6, B 33,7, T 30,5 cm. Meissen, um 1740. In der Porzellansammlung in Dresden befinden sich Teile eines Kaffee- und Teeservices mit demselben Dekor. Bis zum Erscheinen des Katalogs der Sammlung Ole Olsen 1927 war hingegen ein Speiseservice dieses Dekors unbekannt. In der dänischen Sammlung befanden sich über 50 Serviceteile, zu denen auch diese Schale zählte. Provenienz Pfälzische Privatsammlung.
