The porcelain attributed to Meissen, c. 1730, decor attributed to Franz Ferdinand Mayer in Pressnitz/ Prísecnice, 1730 - 50. Franz Ferdinand Meyer or Mayer from the Bohemian town of Pressnitz, now Prísecnice in the Czech Republic is one of the most famous painters of white Meissen porcelain. His works can be identified based a square Meissen porcelain plaque that he painted, signed and dated "15th June 1752". It depicts the von Kayser couple and their five children, as well as an empty space for the expected sixth child "in Spe.", as portraits on a family tree. The plaque is now in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (inv. no. C.117-1937). It testifies to his skills as a miniature and enamel on porcelain painter and forms the basis for all further attributions. Provenance German private collection. Das Porzellan Meissen, zugeschrieben, um 1730, der Dekor wohl Franz Ferdinand Mayer in Pressnitz/ Prísecnice, 1730 - 50. Einer der bekanntesten Maler auf weißem Meissener Porzellan ist Franz Ferdinand Meyer oder Mayer aus dem böhmischen Pressnitz, heute Prísecnice in Tschechien. Er wird durch eine von ihm bemalte, signierte und am „15. Juny 1752“ datierte quadratische Porzellanplakette aus Meissen greifbar. Darauf dargestellt ist das Ehepaar von Kayser und ihre fünf Kinder, sowie einem leeren Feld für das erwartete sechste Kind „in Spe.“, als Bildnisse an einem Stammbaum. Die Plakette befindet sich heute in der Sammlung des Victoria and Albert Museum, London (Inv.Nr. C.117-1937).
