Description A NOH MASK OF A YOUNG WOMAN, KO-OMOTEJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912). Carved and lacquered to depict the face of a young woman with almond-shaped eyes and slender lips forming a cheerful smile, the skin is painted white, with shaved and painted eyebrows, neatly combed hair, and black-dyed teeth. The reverse with incised calligraphy.Condition: Good condition with expected wear and few chips to the lacquer along the edges.
