Description A BAMBOO SEGMENT SUZURIBAKO, BY SHONENDOJapan, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Of circular form, the suzuribako made from two bamboo segments, the top of the cover decorated as a drum with black lacquer flowers and inlaid mother-of-pearl. The interior lacquered in gold with red plovers, fitted with a rectangular, gold-rimmed inkstone and marked silver suiteki.Condition: Good condition, some age cracks, with kintsugi repairs reinforced by silver clamps.Provenance: Dutch collection.Weight: 318 gDimensions: Diameter 19.9 cmWith an original mount and wood tomobako (storage box), signed by the artist.
