Description A BLACK AND GOLD LACQUER MINIATURE CABINETJapan, late 19th century, Meiji period (1868-1912). The cabinet with chiseled metal fittings, opening at the front with two doors and fitted with four drawers. Bearing a black ground decorated with scrolling vines and further floral designs in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e.Condition: With some wear, tiny nicks along the edges, and a restored area at the side of the cabinet. Few metal fittings slightly loose and the two metal handles for carrying lost. Overall, still good condition.Provenance: Hungarian private collection.Dimensions: Height 15 cm, length 14.5 cm
