Description A PAIR OF PARCEL GILT BRONZE VASES DEPICTING MINOGAMEJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912)Both with globular bodies rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck with a circular mouth and high rim, finely decorated in high relief with fine incision work to depict a continuous scene of numerous minogame sticking out of turbulent waters, enclosed by rockwork with fish to the bottom and a dragon amid clouds to the neck. The rims with a key fret border. The depictions are slightly different between the two vases.HEIGHT 24 cm (each) WEIGHT 2.1 kg (each)Condition: Good condition with wear, casting flaws, few small nicks and abrasions to the gilding.Provenance: Austrian private collection.
