Description A SILVER AND BRONZE PATINATED VASE, BY ARISU BIZAN (BORN 1937)Japan, Showa Period (1926-1989). Of ovoid form, the exterior of matt silver color and patinated bronze with an abstract spiral design centered by a blossom flanked by two rows of domed circles. Signed to the base with the seal mark Bi.Condition: Excellent condition, minor wear. Provenance: Dutch collection.Weight: 5,302 gDimensions: Height 33.4 cmWith an original wood tomobako (storage box), signed by the artist and a pamphlet in Japanese with the artist's biography. (3)Arisu Bizan was born in Takaoka City in 1937 and is a member of the Japan Crafts Association. Since 1967, he has exhibited frequently at the association's annual show. At the Japan Metalwork Exhibition, his work has been awarded the gold prize three times.
