Description A LOT WITH TWO LARGE IMARI PORCELAIN DISHES, MEIJIJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912)The first painted in polychrome enamels and gilt on the show side with a riverside landscape with mountains, pine trees, a bridge, a pavilion, and a large phoenix flying through, all within a geometric and floral rim, the backside with stylized underglaze-blue design and a metal mounting for suspension on the wall. The second painted in polychrome enamels and gilt on the show side with a circular floral composition, the rims with shaped cartouches enclosing an alternating design of a shishi atop a scholar's rock on a terrace and a floral composition, the backside with underglaze-blue stylized designs.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing flaws, the second with few small chips to the foot rim.Provenance: German private collection.Weight: 3.1 kg and 3.4 kgDimensions: Diameter 45.5 cm and 46.5 cm
