Description A PAIR OF AMBER GLAZED PORCELAIN SHISHI LIONS, MEIJIJapan, 19th century, Meiji period (1868-1912). Each modeled holding a brocade ball showing the mitsu tomoe symbol at the front, with large eyes below bushy eyebrows, one with open mouth, their bodies with curly manes and upright tail, covered in a rich amber glaze.Condition: Very good condition, minor wear. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
