It was the first chronograph from the brand to be regarded as the "Daytona" and the first instance of Rolex to inscribe a tachymeter on the bezel. Discovered with a wide variety of features, collectors have identified that earlier examples of the 6239 such as the present example would have its bezel calibrated to 300 units, while later examples would feature a bezel of 200 units. The present watch comes with a black dial of contrasting white registers, along with the slightly faded red Daytona logo give it an attractive vintage presence on the wrist.
