The censer is raised on three tapered legs issuing from lion masks and carved around the compressed globular body in low relief with a band of archaistic taotie masks, flanked by a pair of bird-form handles with rings. The domed cover is similarly carved surmounted by a hollowed flaring finial. The stone is of a milky tone with some attractive russet and greyish inclusions. Height with cover: 11 cm.
