拍品为清代御窑传统品种，据《《光绪廿六年庚子大运传办瓷器清单》中称为「红龙酒盅」，乃仿明成化器而成，自乾隆至晚期均有烧造。
拍品形制小巧精致，盈手可握，胎轻体薄，外壁口沿及近足部各绘青花双线弦纹一周，腹部所饰矾红行龙，身姿矫健，腾跃于海面，龙须上扬，龙爪怒张，衬以海水波涛纹，生动威猛。整器作工精致，绘画工整，纹饰生动，可谓方寸之间尽显纹饰之精妙。
