Late Period, ca. 664-332 BC. A pale blue glazed faience amulet depicting the Eye of Horus with detailed modelling on both sides. The amulet is distinguished by its delicate craftsmanship and exquisite detailing, with the suspension hole running through the center of the amulet providing additional functionality. The Eye of Horus, also known as the Wedjat Eye, was a powerful symbol in ancient Egyptian religion, representing the god Horus' right eye, which was said to have been torn out during his battle with the god Set. The Eye of Horus was associated with healing, protection, and regeneration, and was often depicted as a powerful, all-seeing eye. Amulets featuring the Eye of Horus were popular in ancient Egypt, particularly during the Late Period, and were believed to offer the wearer protection and good fortune.
