A Fine Zanabazar school Gilt Bronze Buddha, 18th century, the serene figure finely cast and chased, seated in the lotus position, with hands in bhumisparsa mudra, and with his left palm supporting a bowl, upon a circular plinth with rounded sides that is cast in relief with two layers of petals, H: 18.5cm., wood stand, good condition with old wear to gilding, mostly on right hand and knees, base sealed with a burrwood roundel. Footnote: A similar Zanabazar school Buddha with alms bowl was sold at Christie’s London, lot 55, 4 November 2008, while a closely comparable figure of Ratnasambhava, dated 17/18th century, was sold at Christie’s New York, lot 452, 17 March 2021
