A Xiangzhou brown-splashed Box and Cover moulded with flowers, late Tang dynasty, with glossy translucent greenish glaze, moulded with flowers,with three big petals separated by three smaller petals on the cover, with three brown spots painted on the small petals and four brown spots scattered within a carved circle, and two more brown spots painted on the body of the box, the glaze covering the inside of both lid and box, and the tapered lower body and base left unglazed, revealing the greyish body, Provenance: J.A.N.
