整玉圓雕而成，玉質瑩潤，色白柔潤，局部留有赭色斑。器作一螳螂昂首前視，複眼短鼻、嘴吻前勾、雙臂前伸，後四足蹬起全身，腹部飽滿圓碩，且得見陽刻方形雲紋，尾部斂收微尖。此件玉螳螂器形小巧、雕工細膩，其所琢刻螳螂樣貌雖較為抽象，但特徵寫實、頗具動感，並飾有仿古紋樣，為是時文人雅士所偏好花鳥蟲魚題材之類屬之裝飾玉件。
