A George III silver caster, London, 1778,Thomas Daniell, the baluster body repousse decorated with a band of flowers and raised on a floral chased circular foot, the pierced domed cap with acorn finial to floral chased shoulders and a vacant cartouche, approx. 13cm high, approx. weight 2oz Condition Report: The caster is in good overall conditionmensurate with age. Some minor surface scratching, nicking and pitting noted. Decoration to body probably later added. Some wear to linear chasing on cover and some bruising also. Some small splits noted to cover under magnification. Some minor bruising and a small hole noted to body (on petal of one flowerhead). Marks clear to underside of foot. Lion passant and maker's mark to cover. Some small dings/bruising to foot (slightly wobbly). Lid fits snugly. Overall an attractive piece.
