A large Caughley porcelain shaped circular deep dish, late 18th century, decorated in transfer print with the 'Gillyflower' pattern with a central carnation, floral sprigs, and a butterfly, the scalloped rim with a hexagonal pattern border, unmarked, 37cm diameter Footnotes: This dish is likely to be Caughley due to the decoration being a transfer print as opposed to Worcester porcelain which is usually hand-painted. A similar dish was sold at Halls Fine Art Auctioneers in April 2017, lot 321, described as a tureen and with an elaborate cover with grapevine finial which this example lacks.
