A SUPERB LANGYAO BOTTLE VASE, CHANGJINGPING, CHINA, 18TH CENTURY
The ovoid body is supported on a spreading foot and surmounted by a tall cylindrical neck. The foot rim is slightly pronounced. Covered overall with a thick, finely crackled glaze of a rich crushed-strawberry tone, thinning to mushroom at the mouth, and with a faint hue of bluish lavender flambé around the upper section of the neck. The base is left unglazed and covered in a brown wash.


Expert’s note
: The dramatic streaks in the langyao glaze along the lower body of the vase are evocative of a monumental mountain range.

London trade.

Condition:
Very good condition with old wear, some firing irregularities and intentional glaze crackling. The foot smoothened, probably inherent to manufacturing, due to the uneven glaze dripping along the foot rim which is expected from this type of ware.

十八世紀郎窯長頸瓶

長頸，溜肩，圈足。通體釉層肥厚，釉色鮮紅濃艷，有細碎開片，近足處垂釉，但足際無釉露胎。頸部上部周圍有淡淡的藍色薰衣草火焰色。足緣稍顯明顯。
