A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE ‘EGRET AND LOTUS’ ARCHER’S RING, QING DYNASTY
China, 1644-1912. Finely carved to one side in low relief, skillfully utilizing the russet skin to depict an egret with coiled neck in a pond with a large lotus blossom and leaf, the details neatly incised. The translucent and finely polished stone is of an even white tone, except a single layer of russet to the flat side, cleverly used for the enhancement of the carved scene.

Condition
: Very good condition with some old wear, very minor weathering, one side with a tiny chip. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks.
