A PALE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A SAILING BOAT, QING DYNASTY
China, 1644-1912. Carved as a seafaring sampan with two cheerful crew, one stood upon the prow with an oar and the other at the mainsail holding the openworked ropes. The translucent stone is of a pale celadon tone with russet skin to one side of the sail cleverly incorporated into the depiction as well as cloudy inclusions.

Condition:
Very good condition with minor old wear, few nibbles and minuscule nicks, the stone with natural fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.

清代青白玉雕帆船
