AN IMPERIAL-YELLOW-GROUND NINGXIA WOOL ‘NINE DRAGON’ CARPET
North China, 19th century, c. 1850. Finely woven with a central five-clawed dragon surrounded by four sinuous dragons to the top and bottom writhing around flaming pearls, surrounded by lingzhi shaped clouds, bordered by terrestrial diagrams and lishui stripe separated by swirling clouds and crashing waves.

Condition
: Good condition with expected wear, pulls and minuscule losses, some fraying to the edges, and possibly minimal fading to colors.
