A SILK EMBROIDERED PANEL DEPICTING SHOULAO AND MAGU WITH CRANE AND DEER, LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY
China. Finely embroidered with Shoulao standing beside Magu, both flanked by a crane with a fruiting peach branch in its beak and a deer with a lingzhi sprig in its mouth. Magu holds a large purple lingzhi in her left hand and a basket filled with flowers and finger citrons suspended from a bamboo rod in her right, and she is dressed in elaborate white, blue, and gold robes decorated with floral designs and key-fret hems. Her hair is elaborately styled with floral and ruyi hairpins, and she towers above Shoulao holding his gnarled staff. Shoulao’s robes are blue and brown and decorated with Shou symbols, and he wears ruyi-form shoes.

Condition:
Excellent condition with only minor wear, few loose threads, and light staining.

The ivory-ground silk panel is suspended from a wood rod with European metal fittings, the latter dating from the first half of the 20th century or even earlier.

十九世紀末至二十世紀刺繡麻姑獻壽壽幛

中國。精美刺繡，壽老手持如意杖，站在麻姑旁邊，兩側分別是一隻嘴裡銜著桃枝的鶴和一隻嘴裡銜著靈芝的鹿。麻姑彩衣駕雲，肩扛藥鋤，果籃，籃中盛著佛手瓜和西番蓮。四周祥雲圍繞，髮飾精美。象牙色絲綢用歐洲金屬配件木杆裝置，其歷史可以追溯到二十世紀上半葉或更早。
