Etruscan 4th-3rd cent. B.C. Bronze.
Dm. 10 5/8 in; 27 cm
Large, wide bowl. The handle is formed by a horizontal oval loop with offset central section and a semicircular plaque adorned by a stylized, pendant palmette with which the handle is attached to the bowl. Slightly offset rim. The handle was made separately and attached. The places where further handles were attached can be discerned. Surface partially corroded, the original bronze surface shimmers through the patina in a few places in the interior of the bowl.
Bowl intact, adhesive at the handle applique.
