A RARE BRONZE FIGURE OF PADMAPANI, TIBET, 16th ct., standing in samabhanga on a lotus base placed on a shaped throne, its four sides cast with various animals flanking an emblem including a pair of peacocks at the reverse being the mount of Buddha Amitabha the spiritual father of Padmapani, his right hand lowered in varadamudra while the left is holding the stem of the lotus blossoming along the upper arm, wearing pleated multiple-dhoti, its borders engraved with flower-heads, secured with a belt decorated with swaying beaded tassels all around, scarf draped around his shoulders, its streamers encircling his arms with its finials falling down to ankle level, bejewelled, his cold-gilded face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below slightly arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, raised urna, painted facial details, elongated earlobes set with circular ear-rings, blue coloured hair combed in a chignon topped with a minute figure of Buddha Amitabha partly falling in two tresses over his shoulders, secured with a tiara decorated with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons and a flaming mandorla behind, with inventory number BN 19, sealed - Minor wear
