A HIGHLY IMPORTANT GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF PARNASHABARI, TIBET, 16th ct., standing in alidhasana on a lotus base with her principle hands holding the now partly broken snake, both secondary hands with arrow and bow while the upper hands show vajra and ear-of-corn, wearing sari engraved with various horizontal bands containing different musters, secured with a belt set with turquoise beads, tunic made of leaves, scarf floating around her head engraved with scrolling tendrils, its streamers encircling the arms with the finials curling down, jewellery inlaid with semi-precious stones, her triple-faced head displaying each a severe expression with protruding eyes below raised eyebrows, third eye, open mouth, elongated earlobes with ear-ornaments, her hair combed in a chignon topped with a minute figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, secured with a tiara set with semi-precious stones and decorated with pattras, its reverse with rectangular closed cavity for relics, with inventory number BN 20, unsealed - Few fingers and attributes slightly chipped, very minor wear, few losses to inlays
