A RARE SILVER-INLAID BRONZE FIGURE OF GSHEN.RAB.RNAM.PAR.RGYAL.PO, TIBET, 16th ct., the founder of the Bon religion is seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand raised, its hand-palm turned outside, the left resting in bhumisparshamudra on his left knee, wearing dhoti falling a large pleats over the base, its border finely incised with scrolling tendrils, secured with a belt decorated with swaying tassels, cape draped over his shoulders, its streamers encircling the arms and its finials falling down the base, scarf across his chest engraved with scrolling tendrils, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with silver-inlaid downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, urna, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with circular ear-rings, his hair combed in a chignon topped with a ratna and secured with a tiara decorated with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons, with inventory number BT 83, sealed engraved with the svastika-emblem - Stand with few small dents at the rim, minor wear
